A Little About Me

My name is Emma Kelly I am an Accredited Professional, fully qualified counsellor; based in the quiet village of Rippingale (near Bourne) (to be accredited means I have been assessed and demonstrated a high standard of knowledge, experience and development in counselling and psychotherapy).

I have personal experience with eating disorders, disordered eating and childhood trauma. My own journey has also included navigating a childhood and past relationships that were far from straightforward. These experiences have shaped who I am and deepened my ability to empathise with others.

I understand how life’s challenges can disrupt your daily routine, overwhelm you when you least expect it, and leave you feeling stuck or disconnected. But I also believe that even in difficult times, growth and healing are possible. Together, we’ll make sense of your experiences, explore where you’d like to make changes, and move towards a future that feels more aligned with who you truly are.

I am an empathic counsellor who is very grounded and down to earth, I love my job and am incredibly passionate about helping people. I am open minded, non judgmental and have an enthusiasm for life, in addition to appreciating a sense of humour.

I offer face-to-face counselling, in a discreet and relaxing counselling space, as well as online counselling .

A great deal of my experience involves working for the Police for 10 years, working with teenagers, young and older adults in the criminal justice area. I also have experience of working for charities such as the RNIB, Little Miracles and in the civil service and private sector.

Before becoming self-employed, I worked as a counsellor for Little Miracles in Peterborough. Here I worked with both adolescents and parents of children with ADHD and Autism.

I am non-judgmental, here to listen and support you during your counselling journey and hope to build a trusting relationship with you. I offer long or short-term counselling and will work with you for as long as you need. Counselling is not always quick fix but the effects can last a lifetime and be life changing.

I am extremely passionate about what I do, and counselling has been my dream job for as long as I can remember. I have always been drawn to roles where I am helping people but with counselling it feels like a privilege to sit with someone in some of their darkest moments or when they feel at their most vulnerable.

I will always appreciate just how hard it is to make the decision to come for counselling, but I truly believe it is also one of the most rewarding decisions you will ever make for yourself.  Even if it can be incredibly difficult at times.

Counselling is not a regulated profession which means anyone can practice. I offer assurances that I am a PSA Accredited Professional member of the NCPS (National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society) (PNCPS Acc), I adhere to their Code of Ethics and have regular supervision to ensure I work safely, ethically and always in the best interest of my clients.

As a Counsellor I am committed to adhering to the ethical frameworks established by the National Counselling and Psychotherapists Society (NCPS). To maintain the highest standards of professional practice, I undertake a minimum of 30 hours of additional training annually and am an accredited professional member.
